Therapeutic Animal Service
Enriching lives through the human and animal bond.
Full of Hope Farm is a therapeutic animal service established in 2021 starring two bunnies and a labradoodle as therapeutic animal companions and a strong desire to make a positive impact on the lives of local children and seniors.
Our mission is to improve the social and emotional well being of children and seniors through therapeutic animal visits.
We visit children's hospitals, schools, children in foster care as well as seniors in retirement homes with the aim of reducing stress, encouraging connection and communication and bringing joy.
Growing up on a small hobby farm and working at a horseback riding stable throughout her childhood, Allison Williamson has always been surrounded with animals.
Allison earned her BA in Sociology and Visual Arts Education from Marlboro College in 2006. In 2009 Allison earned her M.Ed in Elementary Education from Anitoch University New England. She has been teaching since 2008 in a variety of settings including a private elementary school, a Waldorf inspired preschool and homeschooling her special needs child from Kindergarten through 4th grade (present). Allison's passions include working and playing with children and animals, reading, spinning wool, knitting and gardening.
Oftentimes people living in residential care facilities or staying in hospitals don't have regular access to animals. Pet therapy brings people and animals together to promote health and happiness for the recipient. Studies demonstrate how companion animals help to reduce stress, combat loneliness and feelings of isolation. Pets make us laugh and improve our mood, they encourage physical activity and facilitate healing and resiliency.
